Design tips for non-designers: You don’t need a degree to make things look good but there are some tricks to the trade that will make your designs look that much more professional.

Starting off this series with my biggest peeve that I see people doing all the time! Changing the tracking (character spacing) on a cursive font. 🙅‍♀️ Please, please, please don’t do this. Fonts are designed in a specific way, especially cursive fonts, that they should not be spaced out or in as it messes up the integrity of the font and it honestly just looks plain bad 🙃

My first #moodboardmonday of the year ✨

I’ve always had a love affair with moodboarding since I was a kid, what I used to call “collaging” back in the day, but with scissors and glue (yes, analog all the way). There’s something magical about starting every year, season, and project with a moodboard. It allows me to create a visual identity that sets the vibe before I dive into the details. As a visual person, it’s my go-to tool to capture how I’m feeling or to spark the creative direction I need to move forward!

How to create a moodboard like a pro:

1. Write down your objective, goals, or vibe — get clear on what you want.
3. Scroll Pinterest for photos that match the vibe (hello inspo).

Today marks 7 years of Lovely Lolo Creative 🤯🥹 It’s hard to believe how far it’s come since those early freelance projects for friends and family. What started as a side hustle has blossomed into a thriving studio, where I get to collaborate with amazing people and help businesses flourish.

I’ve been fortunate to work with some truly inspiring women-owned businesses, and I’m so grateful for the incredible clients and friends I’ve met along the way. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been mentoring aspiring creatives and providing opportunities for women just starting out in the field.
